It is because of the severity of her injuries, as she “only” had bruises. (I am in no way minimizing the impact to the victim.) GA criminal law distinguishes misdemeanor and felony assaults by both intent and the severity of the injury. So, since he allegedly never hit her and “only” grabbed her, and she “only” (and thank goodness) received bruises, they decided it didn’t rise to a felony. There are several charges there, however, and I’m sure many could debate whether domestic violence and/or involvement of an unborn child should automatically give rise to a felony, but that’s the way GA law is at the moment.

Sounds like dude may have been hoodwinked by a crazy chick right after he cashed his first NIL check. 'See honey, I'm on the pill.' Probably being extorted. I had a crazy broad just start punching me in the head when I was sitting down. I covered up and took the blows without returning fire or grabbing her. Cops get there and she shows them bruising on her wrist where she struck me but missed with her fists. Fortunately, I was on the phone with a friend when it happened ,and she overheard the whole thing and came right over. Crazy girl went to jail, but only because I had a witness. The jury is still out on Colbie.
