COI wants to shut Miami up

So glad he threw this in: "What you forgot in the last few months is that Miami is guilty on some yet-to-be determined level in the Nevin Shapiro case. Guilty as ****, in fact.".
At least he said "on some yet to be determined level".

Dodd just can't help being a d!ck. **** him.

This guy has been our biggest proponent. Not sure what the **** you guys are reading. We WERE guilty on some level - read the statements issued by Donna and the BOT. Both of them admitted guilt in the first paragraph of their statements.

Dodd was simply pointing out that the guilt has been completely overshadowed by the NCAA's botched investigation. Relax.

We've spent the last two years being constantly reminded of the investigation. I don't recall a single game in the last two years where an announce team didn't bring it up, or a single story about UM that didn't reference it in some way. We're guilty on some level, sure, but no one seems to want to really acknowledge that that level is well below the accusations. At this point I could do without articles that are supposed to be skewering the NCAA insisting on throwing in the phrase "guilty as ****".

The fact we have to wait til june is a pain in the *** and BS. I just want this **** done

We are guilty and we admitted as much by suspending the players and forcing them to repay the values, restricting ourselves from bowls, etc. I doubt anybody has forgotten that we are guilty, what everyone manages to do just as that article does, is skim over the fact that WE'VE ALREADY PAID OUR DUES. It's not like we said 10 hail mary's and went on our way, we paid the **** piper.

They've changed it then. Here's the original article that I pasted somewhere else.

What you forgot in the last few months is that Miami is guilty on some yet-to-be determined level in the Nevin Shapiro case. Guilty as ****, in fact. But the NCAA has almost made us forget that fact.

This is the problem. People think we're guilty of everything Shapiro said, but it just wasn't proven. They don't realize he was lying about a lot of it.

Dudes, set aside the beer money and take a reading comprehension course. This is all good! Dodd is hammering the NCAA with haymakers as he tries to explain that, while Miami has it's issues to deal with, it is now the NCAA that finds itself on trial. And the public perception from all corners, as might be expected, is awful. Just sit back and hope that Dodd and others continue to raise every little NCAA misstep. It's a beautiful thing.

Agreed. I'm not sure that his constant hammering of the NCAA over the last month means he is on our dude, but, he is absolutely but on the side of the NCAA.

This man has been beating the drum against the NCAA.

The NCAA wanting to silence the back and forth may backfire on them, but it's a predictable move and an understandable one given their position.

This is why I suggested the BOT getting their statement out there may not be a great move.

Things are set up for UM to get released on time-served by the COI. But you have to be careful about poking your finger in the NCAA's eye -- people can dig in or become vindictive. And nothing less than the survival of the NCAA is at stake here.

Yeah, if I were a *** in Poland in 1942, I would just get on the train. You don't want to make the ***** mad. Besides, how bad could it be? [End Sarcasm]

As long as they are planning on killing you, you might as well resist.

UM quietly sat back and cooperated for the past 2.5 years. When the NCAA proved it was corrupt and engaging in illegal activity, UM rightfully stood up for itself. F#ck those clown motherf#ckers trying to get righteous after all they've already done to us. They've been in bed with sh1tzero for so long that they're acting exactly like he acted when he was getting sentenced for his Ponzi scheme and claimed he was a victim.

Nah. Public sentiment is now fully in our favor. Read the article.

If the COI has brain one, as Tex likes to say, we get time served.

Yeah, I read it again, and it is possible that a settlement was discussed, but they don't want it to get out. Let's hope that is the case.

The NCAA is fearing it's own end is near. They want all the negative press to stop so they can proceed with *** raping us like they planned all along.

This is how they want it to go, unfortunately I feel like they see we are not going to just bend over and take it anymore.

The thing is, Miami doesn't even need to say anything. The NCAA is doing a nice job of publicly shooting itself in the foot over and over again. This investigation should be set to the Benny Hill theme. As long as more and more facts keep coming out about the investigation, the more public sentiment will be against the NCAA.

Another thing to consider is maybe Miami believed a lot of what Shapiro said. Now that they can see what has actually been uncovered, they've found they've overpenalized themselves.

I'm going to post this here, but why do pundits say that missing a crappy bowl voluntarily is not a punishment? Are they saying that the punishment must be for a New Year's day or a BCS bowl game? Dumb argument proposed by those with a small amount of knowledge of CFB.

No. Punishment only counts if you're allowed to win a BCS bowl and then have to pretend you didn't. (Cough, OSU). It's a dumb argument even by their logic, however, because the Canes did forego a chance at a BcS game last year. Granted- they would have had to play NIU, which brings us full circle in the "crappy bowl" argument.

It's a way for those that want to see us get hammered to justify their argument for more punishment. Their goal is to make it seem like we haven't been punushed at all yet. Those that take this route also never mention the fact that we gave up the ACC title game and a potential BCS game.

The idiots gloss over that we were going to play a mediocre fsu team in the ACCCG, and we stood a very good chance of winning that game and going to a BCS game. All the shytbags just assumed that we were going to lose to fsu in the ACCCG.
