Hiring Golden is the best move UM has made in 11 years. Another year of Shannon would have put us at the bottom of the ACC.

We already were at the bottom of the ACC. One more year of Shannon and the program would have collapsed. He had a ZERO recruiting class going for 2011, spent his entire last season making up increasingly bizarre excuses and throwin' everyone but his dog under the bus.

Remember the 2,000 total attendance mark for his last game. One more year of that, and the program would have died.

As it is, it's gonna take years to get back to the pre Shannon and pre Coker nightmares.
