Coaching Staff Update: 1/9

What’s y’all problem with Banda? I stilll don’t get the gripe with him..he had rob knowels playin at a starter level...thats worth a raise

Actually he had knowles starting bc he allowed the safety depth to get so bad he had no choice, not because Knowles was playing lights out.

Knowles did improve but never should been a starter. In limited duty Bolden looked the best at times and wasn’t coached recruited/coached by Banda before he showed out.

I get the impression that unless Stubblefield turned Njoku into Andre Johnson in one offseason he was always going to have a target on his back.

I thought the WR play was good this year and his recruiting hasn't been poor either - two 4 star WRs (and potentially a 3 star WR).

If Lashlee hasn't banged the table for him to be removed, I'm ok with him getting another year.

Our routes seemed poor and rounded off all year which lead to minimal to no separation most times. Even JT4 (yeah I get he is always checked out) ran poor routes and we have seen his ability to cut

Manny is a metrics guy. He’s not paying attention to a LOT of stats that disagree with your assertion.

You Stubblefield nuthuggers have absolutely no justification for the nonsense you're spewing about improvement.

Osborn was better at Buffalo by a significant amount.
Harley was fine, but his numbers are just a result of an increased volume of balls his way. He didn't break out at all. Marketshare was still sub 20%. I'd expect a breakout NOW under the new Lashlee system, but thats not on Stubblefield. Harley is just going to get a ton more balls in this offense.
Wiggins was and performed like a WR4. He'll have a chance to "show potential" this year, but again, that will be because of opportunity and the offense.
Jeff Thomas took a significant step backward.
Mark Pope did next to nothing. Again, he'll see an increased number of passes come his way in 2020. He was a sub 10% share player in 2020.

Stubblefield did nada to justify his job. Keeping him is laughable.

If anything Jeff Thomas was LESS open than he has been during his whole time at Miami. With his moves we should see him in the words of @Roman Marciante "high school wide open"

Meh. Firing a guy after one season meant he was abysmal. Stubbs wasn’t that bad. I think a lot of posters are just following the crowd. Our WRs made strides this year even with this crappy offense. And he recruited well all things considered. Redding and Daz are All Americans. Retrespo is locally respected as a stud. Can’t ask for much more.

I don’t care if we keep him or not but your argument is off base.

Wiggins had major improvement and actually caught the ball for the most part this year.

Harley has the best year of his career.

Jeff Thomas quit again and that’s not on Stubb.

Pope is Pope. Too small to beat press coverage and Enos didn’t put him in position to succeed.

Enos is the reason WR didn’t do much not Stubb. Stubb doesn’t call stupid *** plays, Stubbs didn’t make Jeff Thomas quit again. Who knows why Hightower really quit. Njoku couldn’t see the field with any coach.

you can’t honestly Judge the guy one way or another on if he should stay or go. He may still get fires or maybe we don’t have any other options really wanting to come here that are better.

It’s been on a few Canes Pod Casts, obviously nobody really super tuned into Canes but word is going around and also word on the streets.

This response made me lol. Come on dude you’re better than “word on the streets.”

This staff lost to fiu and a High School in LA, nobody should be retained. I love Butch and know he takes special joy in beating us to teach administration a lesson but this is fiu for God's sake, not even UNC. Think about that game is staffs switched players, who win by how much?

A guy like Pope can actually salvage his career in an offense like this. It will get him in space and allow him to make plays. If he buys in he can really be dynamic. Harley too. I am willing to give Stubbs another crack at it with a new offense that allows his guys to showcase their talents.
