I would love to sit in on the S&C for one week jsit to see the actual “culture” there because it’s usually, in my experience, what really carries over to the field

I don’t like pointing to the “culture” thing as a red herring, but it’s clearly an issue

The problem still remains I’m not sure if we have the guy to fix that part or not yet

I feel like it should be a strength of his but I’m in a wait and see approach. Feld, Feely, Swasey etc

A coach can do amazing things but they’re also not exactly miracle workers

Not sure where Feld fits in yet

He was assigned this position at Oregon. Cristiobal gets hot headed. Feld's job is to remind him to cool it and if necessary to escort him off the field or to otherwise calm the situation.

Hello Canes. Feld is more about appearance (he loves attention) and social media than about S and C. With him Oregon had so many injuries that it was crazymaking. Lanning of course has a new guy for S and C and injuries are diminished. Case: Cameron McCormick (TE) is a Senior who has been injured the previous three seasons. With the new coach he is injury free. He is blocking well both in the backfield and down the field. He has touchdown catches. Lanning is not messing around.

This is the correct answer.

I've said it probably 15 times on here but I'll say it again, I will never disparage Swasey's character - and I've shaken his hand in person, but as a S&C coach he and Moffitt and all these guys are dinosaurs.

Training the best college football players ever assembled on one team makes you look like a genius; how hard do you think it really is to train Andre Johnson, Sean Taylor and Jonathan Vilma? Same with Cochran when he was at Bama.

Yessir just reading some of your insights I know you can relate. It’s a tough task for a trainer in college to change the culture of an entire team…impossible actually

Since Randy took over, and part of why Swasey got so much crap during that time, is frankly the kids that were coming in flat out seemed lazy to me. Not all of em of course, but just not a lot of desire to be great. And when you’re around a winning culture in the weight room you know that’s it’s more self policed and monitored than the actual coach, because there’s just only so much time and effort a guy can have access to these kids

I’m encouraged though by the type of kid I’m seeing in our 2023 class though
