Coaching Clinic at The U

The defensive coaches need to attend few coaching clinics to learn a new 3-4 implementation philosophy. The should spend two weeks with wade philips.

Going to a clinic in Orlando on the 28th where Miami's staff is speaking as well but i think it's just their offensive guys.

Alot of great speakers at that clinic too, including Saban.

Ahhh can't wait. This should be interesting.
Hey Wildcat, you gonna go to this? The idea of dorito teaching defense can provide lots of lulz.

I'm going to get called a slurper/apologist for this, but on the board or in the classroom you aren't going to find to many guys sharper than D'onofrio. Whether that translates to the field and how well it is taught to the kids is a different story, but I guarantee if you just listened to him talk x's and o's you would be impressed.

I'm guessing you've heard him talk X's and O's?

What stuck with me the most was probably the pure amount of football he had knowledge of and his ability to really have great understanding of every position on the defense

I don't doubt what you say, but being a good coach is teaching this to your players, getting them to buy in, and successfully implementing the strategy. He has done none of those things.

Interesting. I don't doubt you. It's just a shame that he can't translate that knowledge onto the football field.

hence why i typed "Whether that translates to the field and how well it is taught to the kids is a different story"

Hence that is what separates him from being this football genius you imply that he is to being the deadweight he has been for nearly 4 seasons.
