The issue with your evaluation is that others had extremely similar skillsets, but people didn't notice. Ever heard of Roger Craig? Faulk was a more athletic version(Also he got the chance to have an offense built around him, Roger was never going to be that guy), but we had seen someone be able to do it all before. Faulk is rightfully a HOFer, and belongs in the conversation for best tailback of his generation, but I don't have him as a GOAT level. That said, to each their own. Still can't believe that Erickson wasn't willing to lie to him, just to get him on campus...Lol nah. He my Goat bruh.
Changed the RB position forever. Best overall RB of all time. Could run outside the tackles, inside the tackles, catch and run routes like a wide out, block like a **** tackle. Pass blocking ability was top notch.
He became the prototype back and changed the position like no one ever has. He changed how teams see the RB position.
He may not be everyone's GOAT but he's mine because I look at everything a RB is asked to do and I haven't seen a RB whose great at all the things he's great at.
swear to god some people just fall up.
This dude is an addict who relapsed multiple times, ran off to rehab when he was going to get exposed for stealing pills then gets his buddy Kirby Smart to kill the story explaining his absence as medical issue only to resort to buying pills from dealers and again almost getting exposed and again having the story quelled by having a fluff piece written about the “adversity” he faced beforehand and outing himself an addict now turned wellness coach?
That all happened in the last 2-3 years and yet he gets a HC job over dudes who have grinded for decades hoping for just one shot. Smh
