Aside from potential of getting a massive buyout after getting fired, why would Day go to a lessor job?

You can never underestimate the ego, arrogance, and hubris of coaches. At OSU, Day is just another name in a long line of coaches. They won before him, they'll win without him. They are a well run football program.

Texas A&M has the money, the alumni/fan/booster support, they have the recruiting base, etc. They have everything needed to be a premier program. They're just a coach away. If he were to take the job and somehow win a title there (**** even a couple conference championships) he will be a god and they would build him a statue.
