WVU hired the North Texas AD which might set up Neal Brown being fired and Seth Litrell replacing him as HC. Litrell has a great offense and would have been a pipe dream/Candle-esque type of OC hire here

Why delay the inevitable? Based on WVU's record under Neal Brown, it's highly unlikely there will be a turnaround that is significant enough to warrant him staying beyond 2023. Must be a buyout related issue.

It's pretty rare that an AD comes in and fires the HC immediately. Miami power brokers made sure that the HC was in place before a new AD was hired to avoid such an outcome.

My bad… I was just speculating Litrell could be a successor at WVU should it open.

There were talks of Litrell getting fired this year if they performed poorly. They went 7-5 and he is now 44-43 overall at UNT. Barring an insane year in 2023, I'd be shocked if Litrell would ever be considered for WVU role.

They could do what Nebraska did with Frost, give him a last chance to fix things, if not fire him and get a head start on the next coaching carousel

Not sure the USF job is better than Coastal. But hey you can't live off that 900K from Coastal forever, time to save for retirement.
