To LSU or Oklahoma?

I haven’t heard Lebby to LSU, but I think him going back to Oklahoma is a done deal, $3.5mill would make him the highest paid coordinator in college football, but that makes sense given the desperation Oklahoma is in right now.

LSU, supposedly.

Maybe they’re shooting for the moon, but I have hard time believing Lebby would pick LSU over his alma mater.

Maybe the money would be enough to snag him, but Oklahoma makes the most sense, he’s played at OK & is a Bob Stoops disciple just like Venables & the chance to go back probably holds more weight than being on staff with Brian Kelly who he doesn’t really know at a program like LSU that he has no history with.

Man this list reads like Florida's west coast. Where coaching careers go to die.

I think Lashlee and Cumbie should be successful respectively but man, seeing vets like Jerry Kill, Jim Mora and Don Brown get gigs at places where you're pretty much guaranteed to lose all the time is rough.
Well, I think they just enjoy coaching and are not concerned about trying to be an elite program somewhere.

I don’t see Kelly as Lebby’s type of boss

That's a great hire for Duke, he just turned down the Tennessee HC job last year and had other P5 HC offers. Duke is grabbing him while Clemson had a bad year while his value is low

I have us going 8-4 in year 1.

Year 2 we’ll see.

As far as recruiting, I think he’l hover between top 12-15, with maybe a top 10 by year 3.

My expectations are medium, because setting the bar too high is just setting up for disappointment.

I think having overly lofty expectations isn’t wise, but most fans are true believers so you can’t really curtail that.

What I really hope doesn’t happen is for people to expect him to turn us into a CFP team & then if it doesn’t happen everyone gets upset & starts calling for his head, because once we hire him he’s gonna be here for 7-10 years at the least IMO, so people better get comfortable because no amount of banners is moving him lol

To assume he’s gonna come here & dominate is the easy take, but I’m not sure how much of a reality that will be.

Ultimately, I hope he’s Saban Jr & leads us to a championship, but hope is one thing & reality is often another.
Yikes!!!! 8-4 year one isn't good enough for me. We should have a really good offense despite a new OC and potential scheme change. We'll have the best QB in the league and stocked quite nicely at all skill positions. The offensive line should be solid to better than 2021 with Rivers and Campbell returning as starters. That's Nelson, Rivers, Clark, Scaife, and Campbell. Pretty **** good. The defense will be a concern, but teams will need to score 40+ points to beat us.

The Coastal is going to be even weaker next year than this year which is why 8-4 isn't good enough. Pitt, UVA, and UNC (assuming Howell declares) will all be breaking in new QBs. Duke, UVA, and VT will all be breaking in new coaching regimes. I'll give you losses to TAMU and Clemson, but where are the other 2 losses coming from?

You are missing the point…. Keep them expectations low. It makes it more enjoyable. Also, thank you for the amazing thread, @Liberty City El. He is the best poster on this site.
