Thought this was a **** thread
How long has it been since we've been ranked in a Preseason Coaches Poll anyway?
2 things.
1. What the **** is the hype with UNC? The finished 7-6 and lost their NFL QB. I know they won 6of7 to finish the season but they beat no one.
2. Just like last year we can make an early impression and make a big jump in the poles after 4 weeks.
I totally agree. The only reason the UNC game was even close last year is because Duke got injured in the 1st quarter and Ebron tore us apart, but this year we'll have Duke and they won't have Ebron. I don't see any reason to say that UNC will be better than us.2 things.

Their "NFL QB" was an NFL QB kind of in the same way that Morris was. Marquise Williams will probably be the replacement and is a better fit for Fedora's system with his ability to run. Also pretty sure these guys won 7 of 8 to close the season, with a close loss to Duke being all that stopped them from winning all 8. No matter who you are, in a Big 5 conference, that is impressive. We oughta know, as we wilt like ******* daisies down the stretch every season.
Lot of momentum around that program and people like Larry Fedora. Couple that with the fact they play in a division perceived nationally as weak and the fact that they avoid FSU and Louisville this year and you can see why they snuck into the Top 25.
This is their schedule:
Sat, Aug 30 Liberty
Sat, Sep 06 San Diego State
Sat, Sep 20 at East Carolina
Sat, Sep 27 at Clemson
Sat, Oct 04 Virginia Tech
Sat, Oct 11 at Notre Dame
Sat, Oct 18 Georgia Tech
Sat, Oct 25 at Virginia
Sat, Nov 01 at Miami
Sat, Nov 15 Pittsburgh
Thu, Nov 20 at Duke
Only surefire losses there are Notre Dame and Clemson. Let's, for projection's sake, say they split the Duke/Miami games.
Unless they go full Gator and lose to either SDSU or ECU, they will most likely be a 9-3 team, which could very easily get them into the back end of the Top 25.
CANES will not be ranked in the top 25, but will be in the top 35 imho.

Your explanation highlights one of the problems with rankings to begin with. Anyone of the voters who based their ranking of UNC even in part on the fact that UNC has an easy schedule should lose their right to vote. The ranking is supposed to be based on how good of a team you think it is, not how easy of a road they have to get a good record.
UNC doesn't have one sure fire loss on their schedule. Stop with that.2 things.
