Coach Speak: Diaz ready to give more reps to freshmen, Hartley talks punting game

View as article
We went from having one of the best punters in NCAA to having perhaps the worst. Does anybody understand what he's doing wrong mechanically that he is so bad?
Since his dad was an NFL punter for around 26 years it has to start in his head which screws up his kicks. Kinda like when a 2nd baseman all of a sudden cant throw to 1st base

I can't help but laugh everytime a coach praises Blades. Dude hadn't taken his first shower on campus and some were saying that he wasn't cutting it. Meanwhile the coaches say that he's been putting in work from the beginning. LOL

I don’t care if it’s mental, physical, spiritual or sexual

If he keeps ******** up and they don’t let Spicer take a crack, it sends a really bad message to the team

“(Gregory) Rousseau for sure would have been one, we’re sad to see him [injured] and hope we can get him back,” Diaz said.

Did Diaz imply Rousseau might be back? I thought it was said he'd be out for season?

I thought it was said 4-6 weeks.

I thought it was said 4-6 weeks.

UM loses key freshman. And start time set for Canes-FIU game

Freshman defensive end Gregory Rousseau will be out indefinitely, possibly for the remainder of the season, after sustaining a fractured right ankle in Saturday’s game against Savannah State.
UM announced Rousseau will undergo surgery this week. According to ekneewalker.com, “it is normal for patients to require 12 weeks before they can resume normal daily activities after having an ankle fracture surgically repaired.”
UM said a timetable will be determined after surgery.

This is why Jackson is ****. Quoting some website that has zero to do with canes football or football in general. I think depending on how the season goes we could see him again at some point.... He could even get some reps in the last two games to get him back in football shape and still preserve his redshirt.

I think the 4-6 week bs was one of our “journalists” jumping the gun. The official—what Richt said—was that they wouldn’t have a time table until after the surgery.

If Toledo opens the game on offense going 15 for 15 I am just turning the **** off again and for those keeping score for the second time in last three games.

The punter sucks we all know this a walk on he will do better he can’t do any worse. My grandmother who died in 1973 can out kick Feagles so it shouldn’t be hard finding a replacement unless Rick is as stubborn as we all think he is.

So are we going to get a recruiting video like No'D when we hear about a punter that is a star prospect that can kick 60 yards but shanks every one?

Put me in the column that believes we have serious issues at the punter position.

Feagles has never really shown anything to make one believe he can be a quality punter at the D1 level. I highly doubt he's shown the coaches anything in practice either. He appears to lack the basic athleticism necessary to be a good punter.

They did let someone else punt once against Savannah State. A kid named Jack Spicer punted one time for 34 yards. Which is not great yet it was better than Feagles 3 shanks to open the LSU game (20, 32, & 22 yards).

This is a major issue.
