So you guys see no negative impact on losing the best d line coach in America?

Is he really the BEST? I know he's very good, and produced a bunch of NFL players at Missouri, but I'm wondering if anyone can say he's the very best.

I don't think he's indispensable or irreplaceable.

Yup. There are very few schools in this landscape that can afford pure coaches. Its why Soldy eventually was put out to pasture. Sure...you have room for SOME in this mold, but times have passed them by. Its either the NFL or HS for them. College has become such an arms race, you need grinders that can recruit...it becomes more important than teaching and coaching at this point.

Alabama can afford a Kuligowski as a favor because they have Tosh Lupoi who can recruit an entire front seven by his **** self. Miami isn't afforded such luxuries.

Especially when you have a substantial and wide-ranging ATM network...i.e., bags.

Interesting. I had not heard that. All-in-all I think it was a good move for both Kool and Miami. Kool doesn't have to recruit anymore and Miami hopefully has their guy that can both develop talent AND recruit.

The timing made it seem like that could be the case.

And, again, it sure didn't take us long to replace him - maybe 2 weeks.

He didnt recruit, we are allowed to attack him now. I questioned his recruiting when he was here, hes terrible not a good fit for UM.
