This offense had 324 yards passing, wouldve been more if Walford and Herb couldve held on to the balls they dropped.
The running game couldnt get going b/c the defense couldnt get off the field and allowed VT to continue to increase the deficit.
James Coley is in his 1st year, he has more reasonable excuses then Coach D'onofrio.
Coley has no excuse really.
He has the best unit of the 2, and it isn't even close.
A veteran OL, that was suppose to be one of the best in the country.
A veteran QB, that was suppose to be one of the best in the country.
Prior to Duke going down. One of the best in the country.
A great core of WR.
Yet, his unit has squeaked by every week to score points.
The defense is hot trash, because of the scheme, and the talent that it has. Yet even with what talent it does have. It should be playing better than what it is.
No you dont know football really so you cant tell that this terrible defense has hurt this offense that's why you've been one of the ppl on here pointing the majority of the blame for this teams problems on the wrong side.
The receiving unit isnt great there isnt enough depth Allen Hurns is the only reliable receiver on the team w/o Scott and Dorsett on the field. Your boy Clive Walford dropped one play after the other tonight, and Herb Waters dropped more then a couple of crucial plays that S. Morris hit on the money.
None of that is James Coley's fault.... even w/ all the miscues on offense, they still did enough to win. The defense is the unit that deserves the majority of the blame easily.
The fact that you say just b/c the OL is the best unit on the team is suppose to make your point of view make sense just shows how clueless u really are.
and talent isnt the issue at all on this defense, there you go again like the rest of the D'onofrio supporters 2 dug in to accept reality. A better DC would make the talent we have on this team more effective on the field.
AJ Highsmith playing on the field isnt b/c of lack of talent, it's b/c of D'onofrio that he's out there. Gunter Burns Jamal Carter or even Tracy Howard are 100x better safeties naturally then AJ Highsmith regardless if they are going to make mental errors or not.
The LB unit isnt that bad.... A DC w/ a brain would say that Cornelius isnt talented enough to be in the 2 deep here regardless of his lack of mental errors, and play Raphael Kirby, Denzel Perryman, and Alex Figueroa in the rotation or Jermaine Grace. I'd live w/ the results if i know i have the best talent on the field playing in a scheme they can succeed in.
The D-line has talent, it's the scheme simple as that.
