Here is some more scattered thoughts from a random fan. I’m 30, was too young to witness the truly greatest Miami teams. My first memory of sports is being mad with my dad in the 2002 NC.
Miami hits the over on the season win total which was set at 9.5 and finish the regular season 10-2, undefeated at home.
This was probably the year with the most parity in CFB that I can remember. IMO NIL is dispersing the talent so Bama/UGA can’t hoard a roster like before. UGA who has 2 natties in the last year 3 years went 10-2. Bama had 3 losses with two of those coming against .500 teams, they scored 3 against one of those .500 teams. We were better against a mutual opponent in USF. OSU which rumored to have the most expensive roster ever went 10-2 and lost to their rival who was having a down year and downright looked bad at times. Just let all that sink in.
The Canes regular season could have ended even better!! Which is awesome to say. We should have went 12-0 but unfortunately we didn’t. Defense was a problem, I’m sure there will be changes. But we just had 10 wins for the first time in 7 years and had the number 1 offense in cfb. Cam Ward was so fun to watch, even with all his flaws.
Mario has flaws, so does the rest of cfb. We missed in the portal on CB, how many quality CB’s were actuallly in the portal? We hit at every single other position in the portal. If you’re a lifetime fan and say you’re done with the team now, gimme a break, this is the best we’ve been in 2 decades and the program is trending up. If you wanna go be a fan of another team then do it and stay off CIS. Of course we’ll talk potential solutions and all that.
Pray that we get into the playoff to see Cam Ward play in orange and green again. If not then buckle up for the off season and let’s look forward to improving the best we can. Mario earn your check on the recruiting trails. Let’s keep ******* building. And **** all of you, Go Canes.
