**** of a start
but, the injuries really dampened the padding of the stats
but still - what level
6 of the first 7 are sick
injury killed one
Terrell Davis is a legit conversation b/c he was insane in a 7 year career and Clinton was comparable

He added weight once he got to Washington and it slowed him down.

If he had stayed at his Denver weight and stayed healthy....man.

when he left for denver playing in that system i thought he would be a no brainier HOF

that skin trade really did hurt more than help

CP ended up the second leading rusher in Skins history. What slowed Clinton down more than the weight was playing behind some of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and for some of the worst teams in the NFL.

None of you have said it, but in the DMV on talk radio they act like CP never carried the ball between the tackles before he got to Washington. He made his living between the tackles and his cut back was lethal. You don't have to be a huge oof to run between the talks. You just have to have heart, agility, and great vision. Plenty of medium to small backs have done it well. That former Cowboy running back comes to mind.

Nah man, he was very good but not elite. One of a long list of guys that had a short elite run of about 3 years and then slowly faded away. Its the nature of the position. I also think he benefitted from playing in Denver's system. That is no knock the guy, he was a very good player, but he wasnt even T Davis. That dude was straight dominant and has two rings to show for it....

I think Clinton's career really took off in Washington when he got to work with Coach Janky Spanky

If he wasn't "great" on the field, he more than made up for it off the field with Coach Janky Spanky, Eastern Motors, etc.

Very good NFL career. But, a couple things hampered his career - leaving Denver (Shanahan would have made him a monster) and being lazy in practice and the off-season.

Dude was elite, but injuries got him. In Denver he was still young and was there for the post John Elway years and still put up good numbers. In Washington, he played on a bad team the entire time and still put up good numbers. If not for his injuries, you would be looking at him in a much different view.

He had a nice career most kids would have dreamed to jus to accomplish what he did while making all the money he dd now he is doing his thing on the NFL network he is a cane for life no judgements here I love the guy

He didn't voluntarily leave Denver did he? If he would have stayed in that Denver system for his whole career he would be a shoe in HoF'er.

I thought he was involved in the Champ Bailey trade that ended up hurting both teams instead of helping them.
