Could he have been more? Could he have been an every down back, or at least the guy who took the bulk of the carries when Duke went down this year (not that Dallas was a bad option)? He looked very good almost every single time he touched the ball, but barely got to touch the ball in his career. His career numbers heading into the bowl game are 79 carries for 378 yards (4.8 ypc) and 3 TD along with 17 catches for 183 yards (10.7 ypc). Obviously no one can know with any certainty, but what does everyone think? Does the coaching staff know what they're doing by keeping behind Crawford (and before that others as well), or has he been severely misused?

I think he's a decent player and good kid for whom things just haven't worked out. Between injuries, and always having someone ahead of him that is better (such as Crawford), even if only slightly, when he's not injured, he hasn't been able to get the playing time.

But that's part of my question. Is Crawford better? Obviously the coaches think so, but Clements never seemed to get the chance, at least not in a game. He'd get 1 carry, rip off a 10 yard run, and then get taken out.

Crawford is a more complete back, more versatile. He blocks better than Clements, which is always a very important tie-breaker when all else is similar. He also runs incredibly hard for someone his size.

I'd say Clements runs hard too since the coaches put him in (or used to put him in) on 3rd and short when we had Miller and James.

I like Clements and always wanted to really see what he could do with more reps. As others have noted, he was big on 3rd down for us. I can only recall one time where he failed, the Kstate game last year. We were moving the ball, he was getting a lot of burn, and then he fumbled. Never saw him much the remainder of the season then he got hurt.

He lacks splosiverance, is diminutive, does not possess good straight-line speed, doesn't have much wiggle, and he didn't really advantagize the opportunimals he received through his four years here. Good kid though.

I was hoping to see more of him late in the season. I thought he looked good when he was out there, but it always changes when you become the feature guy... I feel like he got short changed some.... Not sure if he ended up at odds with the staff or what but he should have gotten more looks IMO.

Nice player, but vision was definitely lacking in addition to what Rok said.

I think coach was scared to play him....neck

just like Lewis and Duke next year....

Clements supposed best feature coming out of high school were his hands. He would have been a great third-down back, but I think injuries really held him back. Wish the kid the best in the future.

Is it a possibility for Clements to get a sixth year? With our RB depth it couldn't hurt to have the old dog around another year.

Liked him WAAAAY better than Crawford...
Crawford tries and runs hard but he's not a rb...
IMO Clements neck was the big holdup with him getting more playing time
