Miramar (Fla.) High School safety signee
Brian Balom is practicing social distancing along with his parents and two siblings as the coronavirus continues to run its course.
He’s spending his days with his family … and trying to stay in shape.
“I’m able to work out in the back yard or the park across the street, and I’m running in my circle to stay in shape,” Balom said. “So with that it (coronavirus) doesn’t really disturb me that much.”
Balom’s also in regular contact with safeties coach Ephraim Banda.
“He says just to stay in shape, try to get everything situated with finishing school and just stay focused,” Balom said.
Balom’s high school classes have not going virtual yet, but he expects that to happen next week. And, assuming that goes smoothly, he anticipates graduating and being eligible to report to Miami for Summer I in May.
“Once my school gets going (online) I think it’ll all work out okay,” Balom said.
He adds regarding the coronavirus outbreak that “I have my concerns, but you just have to practice good hygiene and you’ll be okay, not being in crowds.”
