Your question is moot.

Jerry Rice.

Honorable mention:

Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers, and Jim Brown.

Greatest QBs - Brady, Montana, Marino, Brees, Favre, P. Manning, Rodgers.
No Unitas facepalm
Brady, Montana and Unitas. Y.A. If you want to fall back one more. Brees, Marino, Rogers and Farve don’t belong anywhere near this list. Second tier and amazing all of them. They weren’t even the best of their generation. Forgetting Walter Payton is criminal. Sayers was an amazing talent with a ton of talent. His body of work makes him a non-factor. Hall of Famer yes! Greatest of all time, just can’t. My opinion and in no way intended to troll or be disrespectful.

Just my opinion, brother.

Unitas is another all-timer, no disrespect to him.

Also, this is a thread about best player, not biggest winners.

Marino was the best pure passer and QB of his time. He just never had a good running game, or a good defense until his late years. Football is a team sport, not an individual one.

As a pure passer, Brees is better than Favre and Brady, and on par with Manning, in my opinion. Again, best player, not greatest winner. Rodgers is also one of the top QBs to ever lace them up, in my opinion.

If this was a “Who is the greatest winner of all-time?” thread, Brady and Montana, no question about it.

Sweetness was a great RB, but I would take Barry, Jim and Gale on any team as my 3 RB’s all-time. No disrespect to Walter, he would be my 4th choice. Bo Jackson was an animal too, but longevity disqualifies him from my list.

Barry sat out so many second half’s and fourth quarters of games to let his backup get PT during his prime, that he would’ve crushed all of the RB records if he hadn’t done so. He also retired in his prime still. To me what he did at his size, and with his combo of speed, insane wiggle, and strength is unmatched in NFL history.

Again, just my opinion.

Gale was the Greatest "Open field" runner of all time....watch some of his stuff from the mid 60s....and you just shake your head...Baffling stuff....

Since we’re just listing random 90’s Hurricanes, I’ll go with Derrick Ham.

Gale Sayers was the definition of poetry in motion. Still to this day, my all time favorite RB.

Barry Sanders could do things that I have never seen anyone else do, behind a line that wasn't all that great. Everyone knew he was getting the ball, and it didn't matter. I always wondered if he would have rushed for 3K had he played behind Dallas' O line. Imagine having to make your first cut 10 yards down the field instead of 5 yard behind the LOS.

Jim Brown
Interesting story I heard recently. Jim Brown and Wilt Chamberlain were at a party together and Wilt challenged Jim to a foot race, and won. Jim wasn't very happy about that and wanted a rematch. Wilt beat him again.

I said that to say this. They are both lucky Jimmy Murphy wasn't at that party.
