CIS family in need of help

My advice would be this. Stop with the petty crap. Be thankful for everything you have. No matter how little it may be. You may never know. When your ticket may get punched.

amen brother. unfortunately for some, it takes something drastic for people to realize this.
praying for healing, wholeness and strength for your family during all of this

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words and support for my family.

On January 9th 2019. I've suffered what I've i come to learn as my 2nd massive heart attack. In less than a year. I had no clue that the 1st had happened. I had no clue to the 2nd one until i just couldn't breath anymore.

My heart had fallen to 15% operation with a case pneumonia. I was put in a induced coma to help protect my brain. While the surgeons worked to save my life. 4 stints were put into my heart and a transfer to UAB. Was used. In the case that the steps that were taken were not enough.

I'm back up to 40% operation and was released yesterday. Due to lot of hard work by my wife. Pushing me everyday with love. I still have a long road to recovery. Learning how to walk and other basic functions. We take for granted most days of out lives.

I want to thank you all of you guys again. The help you've given. Has been a huge help to my family.

May God Bless you and your family, and may your words of wisdom impact those who read it.

You have to give this a try along with your prescribed recovery plan. This works for blood pressure, cholesterol, or any heart issues. Get well and stay well.

Outstanding :)

There's a true saying " you are what you eat" regroup change your lifestyle ( whole foods plant based) and get back on the FIELD for next series team needs U.

Hopefully others will see what you and family went through and will make changes so this won't happen to them.

Just read your post.

God bless and a speedy recovery.

And I can’t lie, it’s pretty darn scary you can suffer two severe MI’s with hardly any symptoms except at the very end of your second one.

As you recover, if you feel up to it, if you ever have any tips or advice to this mostly male and risk prone audience, i think we’d be all ears.

Also congratulations on improving your EF from 15 to 40. That’s a huge deal!

OCCC. It is extremely scary. Knowing i almost went a year. On a inoperative left side of the heart. That is the side that pumps all the oxygen filled blood too your entire body. Exercise was not an issues for me. Prior January 9th. I worked 12 to 14 hour days. Outside running all sorts of equipment. I would average about 30k steps a day. That's using legit step counters. Not some junk phone that counts scratching your balls as 15k steps.

Had my daughter not been home from college that day. They would've came home to me on the floor dead. I went completely pale and stopped breathing in an instant.

As far as advice.

If your family tree is filled with heart problems. Stay on top of your heart. I would see someone at least once every 6 months min. Get a good cardiologist.

If you smoke. Stop this moment. I've been diagnosed with emphysema.

For real. This is a life changing event. You need strong people behind you. It would really suck to have to go through this without my wife and kids. I'm learning to walk again. Trying to feed my self was a problem at 1st and sometimes still is.

Some peoples situation may not be as extreme as mine. I was in an induced coma for 2 weeks. All in all. Take care of your self. Don't presume just cause you went in for a check up. That your heart or any other organ is ok. **** i had a MRI in September on my neck because it had a herniated disc. Nothing ever showed about left side of my heart.

Had my gallbladder removed in October. No sign of heart problem. Both time i had ultrasounds done and nobody ever noticed my left side was inoperative.

****, brother.

You went through ****, but in a way you almost had a blessing as well. Thank God your daughter was there.

Your advice is excellent. People should re-read it a couple times. Family history is very important (!), but if you’re a man, you’re already in a high risk group for heart disease anyway pretty much. With every year, the risk increases.

Thank the good Lord yours was caught in the nick of time. You have written a very insightful and appropriate post. I know you have a lot of recuperation in front of you, but from your posts you sound 100% at least from an intellectual level.

You are so right about family. In the end, it’s pretty much close to all that matters.

Many blessings to you and your wonderful family.

Wow, man. Thank God you are with us. You are more active than me, and while I pop a variety of pills for cholesterol and blood pressure, I have a strong family history of heart disease.

It scares me. Your experience scares me. I'm glad you have your family with you and that you are able to start moving forward. God bless you and your family, @OBLIVION.

Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery @OBLIVION!

I had a heart attack about 7-1/2 years ago at 53 years old. No family history of heart disease. I was painting the ceilings in my house. Ran out of paint and was changing clothes to go to the paint store. Sat in a chair to change my shoes and got a pain in my back between my shoulder blades that felt like someone was pushing their fist in to it. Started sweating profusely to the point my t-shirt was soaking wet in an instant. I knew something wasn't right. I didn't hesitate to call 911! Got to the ER quickly thanks to the EMT's and it was determined that my RCA - rear coronary artery - had an "L" in it and a piece of plaque got stuck in the curve. A stent was inserted and now my RCA is straight as an arrow. Fortunately, I had absolutely no damage.

I share my story to encourage all of you guys to not hesitate in seeking/asking for help if you feel something isn't right with your body. Being "manly" never crossed my mind. Not being there for my family certainly did.

I too have a strong family history of heart problems. Don't let my situation scare you. Use it as a guide.

Get yourself a good cardiologist. See them twice a year. If you're close too the age where your family has been known to have the issues go more often. Talk to them and get on a good diet. Exercise frequently and get a blood pressure device.

Look for poor circulation. No hair growth on side of calves or numbness in hands or toes.

As i said above. Don't presume just cause you went to the doctor for a check up. Had blood taken or some sort of surgery. That your good too go on other things.
