The case for Chuck Foreman being entered into the pro Football Hall of Fame is strong. 5 times an All Pro in his 7 year career.

Rushed for over 1000 yds 3 times and this was over 14 game season ( 16 now) when gaining 1000 yards was a rarity...and most importantly he was the 1st BIG TIME All Purpose RB racking up 3100 yds over his career even leading the NFL in receptions with 73 for 691 yds in 1975.

I've always thought that Fran Tarkenton built a HOF career off of Chuck's results. During his career he was consistently the Vikings most dangerous offensive weapon. He led the Vikings to 3 Super Bowls, but like Jim Kelly at Buffalo they never won the big one.

His overall value is best summed up in his Total yards rushing and receiving as he racked up 1143 yds, 1363 yds, 1761 yds, 1722 yds, 1420 yds, and 1145 Total Yards in 5 consecutive years over a 14 game season.

Chuck has long deserved to be in the Hall of Fame as the 1st All Purpose RB and a 5 time Pro Bowler during his 7 year career ....BUT to date that hasn't occurred WTF!!...and it's a travesty

I agree foreman should be a hofmer maybe it's losing 4 super bowls that's hurting his chance to get in.shame I grew up rooting for him and the purple people eaters.being a defensive player I didn't have a favorite pro team.but I did root for the teams that had a good defense except the cowboys.of topic I also liked the old lite beer commercials with all the ex pro players .

The team lost ...not an individual. ...not directed at you...just venting. ..BUT I agree...maybe so.

They let in Carl Eller , Paul Krause and several other Vikes of that era. Why not the one who made their offense tick?

Hated the Vikes growing up BUT I always respected #44

The only explanation is that there is none.....Anyway... No One understands what goes on in the minds of fools

Foreman got us THIS close to tying the despised Irish at South Bend in 1972. We missed the tying FG. If we make it, no way do the pollsters put ND in the Sugar Bowl with Bama at the end of the year.

I drink Irish tears.

As a Bears fan, Foreman used to drive me nuts. The guy wasn't particularly fast or powerful, but he was as elusive as it gets. You'd think he was caught, and he'd make some ridiculous juke to break free. I generally prefer North-South runners that hit the hole quickly and accelerate, But Foreman was that rare guy that could get away with the East-West bull****.

Chuck had the most unbelievable spin moves.

He was stronger and harder to bring down than you might think. He was big for his position. I remember a magazine article at the time comparing his moves to Gale Sayers but emphasizing that Chuck was bigger. Not as fast as some, like O.J., but fast enough.

And he was one of the best receiving RBs ever. I think he led the NFL in receptions one year, or close to it.
Chuck was also an outstanding blocker, something that most of the elite backs of the time were not. A very underappreciated quality of this very underappreciated and selfless football player.

Leaving him out of the hall is a travesty in my view.
