objectively if there were no personal feelings attached to any of it and I were in charge the pecking order would have been:
1. Martinez Starting and rotating every other drive in/out, but he is in all 2-4min situations as well.
2. Allen likely being 2nd up to start the season but then Lyle probably eating into his carries as the season went on.
3. CJ jr all along getting about 10-14 snaps per game, just randomly throughout.
4. Fletcher mostly getting short yardage and goal line work or specifically to spell martinez (since we do the rotate drives thing) in the drives he is in.

Next season I'd be giving Lyle 50% of touches, Fletcher 13%, CJjr and Allen 33% in some ratio based on gameflow, and the rest back to Lyle or Pringle when starters are pulled. But if we are able to keep one of them I'd go Lyle 50%, then Fletcher 25%, and Allen or Cjjr 25%....

Literally all of this. It's a waste of money and everyone's time....like why recruit them if you're not going to make any real attempt to actually ise them.

People acting like he sucks now but it always seemed like he was so cloae to breaking super long plays.

He never got warmed up and feel of the game , CJ will explode with another team that will give more than a couple snaps .

To come into a game especially at RB get a hand off and come off the field is terrible. I always felt CJ was never used he couldn’t even break a sweat .

CJ is DEFINITELY doing what’s best for his family in GETTING OUT..

CJ has a tremendously bright future and he’ll play in the NFL .

We’ve made ANOTHER HUGE MISTAKE, if CJ lands in ACC , we will pay dearly.

It’s worrisome that our 2 most explosive RB’s sat on the bench for the majority of the season.

Ajay and Lyle should have been 1A and 1B, in my opinion.

Hopefully AJ doesn’t transfer and they use him properly.

CJ is very fast in a straight line, but has very little short area quickness and wiggle, which is why he didn’t succeed as a KR. I wish him well in his career wherever he ends up.

Martinez is a wrecking ball once he gets going, and our crappy running scheme did him no favors.

Fletcher is a tough RB that will get us yards consistently, just not very many explosive runs.

If I’m him, I’m keeping it very simple and just to FAU with Kittley. Won’t be much NIL but he’s going to get the best exposure for NFL

Maybe USF or UCF depending on who they hire. All good systems for a RB like him to thrive and he’ll get all the touches he can handle.
 
Still a one trick pony. He could do some damage in a system that makes a point to run gimmick plays for him. He’s not a 15 carry guy and likely never will be but his speed can still help a team. I just think he’s another track star playing football.

He was 20th in the nation in kickoff returns. It’s just that kick returns rarely happen these days and the importance of a dynamic return man has drastically dropped.

I said two years ago Brashard was a rb and people laughed or said he can’t pass block , now here we are. Dawson has yet to show he can handle speed or multi dimensional athletes from the backfield.

If you’re not physical enough to run through people running up the middle Mario and Dawson don’t have much use for you. That’s about as creative as it gets in Coral Gables. #sarcasm

Speed and explosiveness ain’t the same thing, but people stay mixing them up. Look at CJ, dude had world-class speed on the track, but it didn’t hit the same on the football field. Why? No explosiveness.

Jordan Lyles, though, that man is different. He’s got that quick burst, moves side to side like he’s on skates, and accelerates like a rocket. That’s the type of athleticism that shows up in the game.

Football’s not about straight-line speed, this ain’t track. Hardly anybody gets to run in a straight line out there. It’s about quick-twitch, agility, and being able to break a defender’s ankles in tight spaces. Explosiveness, over speed, all day.

Forgot where it was @Rellyrell put out a really good analysis on Mario the recruiter vs mario the talent evaluator. It’s really going to be put to the test this upcoming season. My personal one to watch for the future is Wiley compared to nix and Alford.

I agree, CJ didn’t bring that De’Anthony Thomas vibe from Oregon. Thomas had you on the edge of your seat every time he touched the ball or got into open space. He made you hold your breath because you just knew something special could happen.

CJ, on the other hand, didn’t show the kind of juke moves or elusiveness you need to make defenders miss and create those game-changing plays.
 
I feel like Mario and Dawson like these big bruiser backs who will wear your team out in the fourth trying to tackle them. We rarely used any of the running backs as a WR just look at the lions and niners or used any speed to our advantage.

Idk if he can really play P4 yet I think he needs 2 years to build his body right tbh. He was getting tackled with such ease it was crazy

I dont think his body will ever be ready (pause)

His frame is what it is, he looks like he would lose speed the way he is built.
 
What a waste of a signing if you’re not going to find a place for him on the field. I compare it to Anthony Schwartz a few years back. Elite speed but a meh receiver. They found ways to get him the ball - reverses, jet sweeps, etc. wish we were creative enough to use him in spots.
