Wouldn’t expect any Oregon ppl to hitch their wagon to Mario …. Think he’s tainted there. I know he wasn’t there when Mario was but the stink is still there for Mario

Their are names. Let's say one was referenced last DC search. Hypothetically speaking of course. We have a DC.

Why in the world would Chris Hampton leave Oregon to coach for Mario? Talk about going from an Alpha coach to a Beta coach. I simply don't see anyone of his caliber and intensity coaching for Mario

Why would a young co-dc leave for a DC job at a P4 school? He's coached under Lanning for a grand total of 2 years and is from Memphis....But you think he'd say no to Mario and a clear promotion because YOU think Mario is a beta lol.

I think he'd be a real good hire. Make him an offer he can't refuse.

Yeah that’s what Hampton will base his decision on: how the people at Oregon view Mario although they offered him a contract extension the night he lost the pac-12 championship and he was basically coming to Miami.

on a professional level decision, the reason why DC candidates would be interested in Miami:

1. There is young talent in the team
2. You would work in a location to recruit good, young talent.
3. Miami has a great NIL collective
4. The head coach has job security (administration isn’t even close to considering replacing Mario).
5. The position pays well.
6. Pick your own staff.


If Mario fires Guidry, the candidates to replace him will be long and distinguished like my Johnson

He will get a shot somewhere very soon. We need someone that has done it and shown the ability to field a D already though. We can’t afford any 1st time coordinators in this instance.

Do what Harbaugh did at Michigan, got rid of Brown, and went to the NFL, and got himself a great assistant, on a great defensive team.

If he wants to come back to college, go get Deshea Townsend from the Lions to be our DC and DB coach. You kill 3 birds with one stone.

mario is gonna have to accept that the NFL guys arent necessarily in love with recruiting. he should pick up the slack (since he offers nothing else as an HC). at this point, get great tacticians and developers of talent and just focus on bringing them talent that they need. be literally a recruiting coordinator and thats it.
