Chickillo

I'm not expecting a freakish season. I'm expecting a solid season. I think Miami fans may end up being disappointed with his numbers this year.

8 sacks is reasonable

He gets most of his sacks just from having a high end motor. Dude is relentless and never stops fighting.

He's also a film room rat, coach's son, with deceptive sped who does all the little things that don't show up on the boxscore.

+1 I think Chick is going to have an outstanding year that will not nessecarily be reflected in his sack total.

Chick's year will all depend on those around him.

This year coaches have film on him and know he's coming and therefore will be accounting for him, double teaming him and chipping him.

If those around him don't step up and ball out them Chick is in for a long season with a face full of a tackle and TE all year.

If the Bull and the plug as well as some of our other assortment of DE's can make teams pay for doubling up then Chick can have an incredible, 1st or 2nd team ACC year.

God **** he shot up to 265???

What exactly does Golden's U-Tough entail?

I didn't expect Chick to get up to 265 until his Junior or Senior year. He's already as big as Ojomo was his 5th year here.

If that's the case then I expect O'donnel and McCord to be huge next season

I don't know but DP keeps saying something about him having the "juice"

Does the NCAA test for steroids?

It's a quote from a movie ("Juice"), he's not talking about roids.

There's a pretty big gap in between what he did last year, and "freakish", Lu.

If healthy he is going to approach double digits in sacks I think. If the DTs play better and his S&C hold up then he should have a very good year.

I'd consider double digit sacks "freakish." I expect 6-8 sacks.

Still expect Chick to make some plays going forward, but today is a good reflection of what I meant. He won't be a terror off the edge.

Hope that he did not put on too much weight, he was unable to get pressure on the QB today

FWIW...he was chipped and/or doubled almost every passing play. While I agree that he isn't a "terror" off the edge...it doesnt help when you have 3 other DL who can be handled by just about anybody.

I noticed. Mostly the chipping. Point is I realize many were expecting him to "blow up" this year, and it's better for everyone that those expectations are tempered.

He's a hard trying second tier athlete. That's great if he's your changeup guy but it's pathetic when he's the spotlight, the one you're counting on. All you had to do was watch the all star game with Clowney on one end and Chickillo on the other end to evaluate the vast gap in raw ability. Heck, all you had to do was remember Chickillo's dad, and the type of limited athlete he was, and logically suspect the son would be similar.
