did u see him at the high school all star game, the kid dominated against the best of his peers, and its not 15 pounds, he went from 235 to 270 in one year. theres no way it was all good weight. he could be 250lbs in the 4-3 at DE and be a consistent 8 sack a year guy

Really to dominate at a all-star game is not that big of deal. Your playing against a o-line that has never played together and most are at a new position during that game. Hustle can only get you so far with the big boys.

You're right that it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme, but at the time, it showed he could be good. I think you forget that he was also a freshman at that time and while all his peers from that game have gone on to be competently coached and DEVELOPED while playing in scheme's that make sense, he was made to pack on like 50-60 lbs and play in the WOAT defensive scheme. I'm willing to bet those dude's that played DE in that game with him have not put on 60 lbs and been forced to become slow blobs while still expecting them to be elite DE. If any gained that much weight, there is a good chance they are playing DT now.

they are still the best players in the country (genrally speaking) and oline not playing together is negated by the face that the defense can't blitz or stunt. basically 1 on 1 vs the top tackles of his peers and he dominated. I believe he had 3 sacks and defensive mvp. thats not all on hustle. chick lacks the first step quickness that u need to be an effective rusher and its mostly due to all that weight he picked up for this scheme. when have u ever seen a dline have his best season as a true freshman?

All star game argument is weak IMO. I remember qb from USC west Barkley killing it. In college he was just above average.

Something tells me Chik would be a stud had he gone elsewhere. Our DL coach is a joke.

I don't know why he gets a free pass, but Chick (with or without the 10-15 extra pounds) does not have elite talent. He is a solid depth player, and the effort is certainly there, but I put him in the same category as Shayon. I would love to hear disagreement or excuses on this topic...

Isn't chick thinking about entering the draft
