Stewart Mandel made a good point yesterday that , with the new post season next year, the Orange Bowl was close to being left out until the ACC linkEd up with them. The Orange Bowl folks will not forget that when it comes time to pick a team. Very hard for them to pass up Clemson.

Talked to a friend last weekend that works for chick fila bowl. He said if duke beat UNC they would take a 10-2 duke over us.

I think the Chik Fil A will take Duke. They beat us, have a better record than us and made it to the ACC Championship game.

The worst stadium and bowl game I ever went to. And now they use the astro turf as the previous field chewed up players knees in that game.

I'm not sure Clemson will be ranked high enough to even get invited to the Orange Bowl.

Have to be in the top 14 to get an at-large selection. They're #6 in the BCS so they're unlikely to drop past 14th in the final poll.

Who is the Orange going to select over them for the replacement bid though? All the other possibilities are going to have at least 2 losses.

Except Duke won't be 10-2. They have to play FSU next weekend, and will have 3 losses after that. I'd love to see them pick Duke over us. The sponsors must not care much about TV ratings if that's the case.

Ya. Either way I don't see the Orange passing on Clemson. And I really don't see the Chickfila taking Duke over Miami. There's zero benefit to the bowl for selecting Duke.
