Anybody else attend? The keynote speakers were Dan Radakovich, Greg Olsen and new VP of business school and it was at Halas Hall (Chicago Bears), which was pretty cool.

Obviously we get to see it on NFL Sundays when he is in the booth, but Greg was so impressive. Dan on the other hand...I could not believe a word out of his mouth. I was sitting there being like man, I wish Greg was AD instead of Dan (cue the haters who say we don't need anymore "Miami Men" around/running the program).

Greg was telling stories from college, hating on the Irish and otherwise so articulate. I got a chance to talk with him afterwards and I came away even more impressed. He could not have been nicer to the alumni, catering staff, etc. Dude skyrocketed up my fav Cane rankings, and this is coming from someone who legit lived in 704 and bumps 7th Floor Crew during every tailgate haha.

Dan spewed his standard "we are thrilled to be in the ACC and wish to remain in this conference for years" bs. He did specifically mention TV contracts coming up in 5-6 years and that Miami has to position itself "as the hot girl in the room" (not kidding) for when that happens just in case. I was thrilled when we brought him over from Clemson but he just instills no confidence and my opinion did not change after listening to him speak from 3 feet away.

Yes, yes, I know many of you want more outsiders around the program, but sitting there thinking Greg should have Dan's job...thought it would be fun to discuss what former player would you most want taking over the program as AD. After last night, it is unequivocally Greg for me.

Also, everyone should try and get out and attend one of the 100th bday celebrations around the country! It was a good time.

I'm not really a Dan fan, but in his defense, nothing good could come from him stating anything aside from "we are thrilled to be in the ACC..." at an alumni event. The AD role a lot of times is politicking and fake unfortunately. The issue is not what he says in public, but what he does in private.

The reason I'm not his biggest fan is because I'm not convinced he really is doing everything he can to ensure we get out of this conference and maximize our earnings, but it is near impossible to tell without being on the inside. Regardless, it is a lot better than with Blake James, and tbf so far his actions have turned out to be the right ones. We are getting the "best" results we could get while "sitting on the sidelines" and not taking the heat/bad publicity.

Either 2026 or 2027 will be our last football season in the ACC

Peace Out Martin GIF
