There is a interview on state of the u with manny navarro and some other guys.

One of them said he has heard internally and from other people around the program that changes are likely going to happen in the coming weeks.

And there is a guy on itu who said he is a former cane and a current booster said he expects some changes. He said that the boosters have been upset about the D since the duke game.

He said that one possible outcome is that d'onofrio stays as assistant head coach and golden brings someone else in to run the D.

Some interesting he said was that if golden decided to keep d'onofrio as dc and it doesn't work he could be on the hot seat because the boosters are ****ed and wants changes made.

Not sure I want D'Onofrio's hands on our team AT ALL

But u want them down your pants?

So he's no good focusing on one specific thing (the defense) but we want to give him a higher level job overlooking more general areas and the team as a whole?

Sounds intelligent as F

Onfrio has no business being anything more than a position coach at a big school. I doubt he takes that demotion so do the math.

There are not enough coaching spots to keep a coach who is not a cord or position coach. I can 100% assure you that part of the rumor is false.

If he's not the DC he won't be here.

Keeping d'onofrio around if we hire a real DC means another coach will have to be sacrificed, most likely Barrow as I don't see
D'Onofrio coaching DBs or DLine.
That would be stupid.
It would be akin to sticking a band-aid on an amputated leg.

He's already assistant head coach....

The only position Doritos could coach outside of being DC would be LB coach. However, I don't see Golden getting rid of Barrow though.

Which tells you everything you need to know about Golden's ability to spot, identify, and surround himself with good support.

That is probably THE most important task of a Head Coach at a big time BCS school.

Hadn't really thought about keeping him around, but what's he gonna do? This is about to get interdasting.

Exactly. What would Mark D. do exactly if not be the DC? How do you even save face if you get your position yanked from you after a lousy performance?

You guys are setting yourselves up for an epic let down if you think anyone besides maybe a position coach gets let go. I'm telling you based on the interviews and the words used by Golden and staff, they really think their scheme and way of doing things is going to work. It's not on them, they just don't have the right guys yet. They also really play up the "we're the victim card" in regards to NCAA and bad roster management. They don't think they are a bad staff.

Maybe he can be promoted to Golden's position as special teams coach, "win win"
