CFP Roster breakdown by "stars" - from Rivals

I wish we could build a roster like that
If you go back through 247 composites the avg rank per recruit has actually gotten more spread out. We have improved a little bit but are closer to the top teams than we used to be because of some “parity”

But yes still a big leap. I mentioned yesterday that if you look at Oregon this year their average recruit is basically Girard Pringle one of our best. That’s tough

We have to get out of this dead conference. Some of you may think that it doesn't matter but it really has an impact of how well we're able to recruit. Not making excuses here but why I feel we may never recruit like the "big dogs" in the top 4-5 classes. We'll be fringe Top 10 until we do.

Facts. Has become undeniably evident at this point.

I'm not sure how anyone with two eyeballs, a vague interest in CFB, and a 3rd grade reading level could possibly think the conference doesn't matter. We finished 13th and literally ALL 12 teams ahead of us were B1G, $EC or Notre Lame. The next 6 after us are all $EC and B1G. FSpoo is #20. So 2 out of the top 20 teams are not $EC or B1G.

I couldn't agree more with what you laid out. We are fringe Top 10 until we leave the ACC.

Going back to Nike and switching conferences will be huge

Who cares if most are on the bench or have limited experience?

IMO, it is a healthy mix of talent and experience.

This is where all the 5* went this year:

ACC and Big 12 combined 5*:
ESPN: 2/20
Rivals: 1/28
On3: 0 - highest ranked player is #41
On3 composite: 0 - highest ranked player #36
247: 3/32
247 composite: 0/34

SEC/B1G combined 5*:
ESPN: 18/20
Rivals: 26/28
On3: 24/25
On3 composite: 31/32
247: 29/32
247 composite: 34/34

Notre Dame got 1 on Rivals, On3 and the On3 composite.

Why would getting out of the ACC help our recruiting?
Not trying to be funny.
Serious question because I don't know.
The logic is since all/nearly all the 5* signed with P2 schools out of high school this year, if we were to get into a P2 conference we'd have a shot to sign more elite talent. If a HS recruit is deadset on playing in the P2, then outbidding P2 schools in NIL may not matter.

Caveat is this was the first year of the P2 megaconferences, so the sample size is 1.

And how do we do that? Didn’t Clemson and FSU basically give up because they found it wasn’t possible? Correct me if I am wrong and there is a path out.
