I think we try Jeff James at CB...he's only been playing for a year so theres no telling what he can do...and he needs a RS either way

learning curve is far easier if he stays at safety and builds technique/db smarts. starting him off as a d1 corner with a year of hs experience is suicidal.

I guess I am just considering him more as an athlete instead of locked in at safety since he only played 1 year. I just think it would be smarter to put him where he's most needed . Its crazy how bad our CB depth is. With bringing in Finley and Wright at safety i think we can afford to see what James can do at CB . Im not a Coach tho just fan talk

i think he'll get shirted regardless. he looks like he has some good hips, but with such little experience it might benefit him to spend time with safeties and no one seems to know how fast he actually is.

Looking at highlights it doesnt look like James or C. Wright have the speed to play corner.... They are safeties all the way

i read that some think jeff james could end up a cb. i haven't seen him play only 1 yr in hs and don't really know his speed, that said would give us a bunch of 6 feet or taller corners if true.

Jaquan Johnson is a perfect nickel in Diaz' scheme.

Ced Wright could play there, but fits better as a S who steps down into the nickel rather than being identified exclusively there.

We have DB's, losing Byrd hurts, but getting Finley takes much of that sting away.

Expect a huge class of WR's and CB's in 2017. Luckily, they are everywhere in south Florida. (Shot if you've heard this before)

Nickel CB is position that many are projecting for him for good reason. The Honey badger comparisons are legit. I'm very excited to watch him devolop in this defense.

Sam Shields, with 4 years of HS football and 3 years of college football under his belt and way more speed than James, looked lost his first year playing CB.

Johnson will contribute at corner. I think people are sleeping a bit on Redwine. He might not be the greatest cover guy we'll ever have but he is a tough SOB & will go all out against the run. He is an old school kinda DB & I think he's gonna have a great career here.
