dont agree with that- you are looking at it in a vacuum. It's relative to all the other teams questions. Please let me know about ND's proven QB as just one example...

I didn’t say they should be T5. But they bring back some talent in the OL, defense and grabbed some good portal players. They should be 10-15. But when I look at our roster, WR, DL, LB still major issues. Talent could rise up but you can’t bank on that. We had probably the best QB in CFB last season. That got us the 18th ranking in the final poll. I’m not elevating us over anyone just because we check that box. Not when we have issues at key positions. I’d rather be 23 and be wrong and we end up 3. Than be 3 and be right and up 23.

And Vegas has us tied for 11th best odds to win the title next year. Basically splits the difference.

This is the one that matters. They are putting their $ where their mouth is.

Agreed with #2. Will get a presesaon boost to make that matchup the biggest one opening weekend

Texas at OSU plays week one in a natty rematch so unfortunately not possible to be the biggest game of week 1. Week 1 is loaded next year.

OSU vs UT
UM vs ND
LSU vs Clemson
FSU vs Bama
Tennessee vs Syracuse

The good thing is since OSU plays at home means fox has the rights they may do big noon kickoff. But either way we would get the ESPN or ABC nightslot

Was about to say that... Have us ranked #3 but has our best player with the wrong position.

Maybe they're just assuming he'll move to LT but seems odd for them to label him a LT since he's never taken a snap there.

#3 is beyond ridiculous with all the ?? surrounding this team. I would put them between 12-15 for now. LB is a huge concern, DBs have significantly improved but will they gel into a cohesive unit, RB is 1 injury away from being critical, who knows for sure if Beck's arm is ok and he turns out to be good/great. Factor in a new DC and defensive staff as well. This team has potential, but defense wins championships and until this defense is great to elite, we won't finish top 5 IMO
