I didn’t say they should be T5. But they bring back some talent in the OL, defense and grabbed some good portal players. They should be 10-15. But when I look at our roster, WR, DL, LB still major issues. Talent could rise up but you can’t bank on that. We had probably the best QB in CFB last season. That got us the 18th ranking in the final poll. I’m not elevating us over anyone just because we check that box. Not when we have issues at key positions. I’d rather be 23 and be wrong and we end up 3. Than be 3 and be right and up 23.
This is the one that matters. They are putting their $ where their mouth is.
Texas at OSU plays week one in a natty rematch so unfortunately not possible to be the biggest game of week 1. Week 1 is loaded next year.

Everyone is replacing people . Our Achilles heel was our dbs and we have massively upgraded that unit with talent and a new dc. I’m not really worried about replacing the offensive weapons , we have talent there
I'm not arguing your point about issues with WR, DL and LB. However, I would like you to elaborate on those issues. At WR I can clearly see we have talent but we are missing a surefire #1 game breaker type plus experience. At DL we have a ton of talent at DE but lack a proven pass rushing threat at DE. At DT we need more war daddies plus experience. At LB there is a lot of raw talent but we are missing that Alpha game changer at LB. Do these kids step up this season with the new staff? What say you? Obviously we will use the Spring to gauge that then hit the portal accordingly. Will be interesting to see what we do. IMO I'll take a stud WR, a stud pass rushing DE, a difference maker at MLB and another very good Safety. Plus maybe another DT another RB and maybe another OL if the right one comes along. And a stud TE. That's a lot of need. We'll see.
Just to clarify I think we will be in the top 10 because it will look good for TV and they don’t care about us looking bad
