2024 CB Ellis Robinson IV

I just saw where Fran Brown took the Syracuse job. Anyone think this opens the door up for us a little bit more with Ellis?

I always respect guys that bet on themselves and that’s exactly what Fran Brown is doing. Syracuse is just a tough place to consistently win and recruit, so he’s definitely got an uphill battle ahead of him.
The opportunity to get a HC job for a guy like Fran Brown is slim to none, especially a P5 job.

He has no choice but to strike when the iron is hot, otherwise he'd be hard pressed to get a bunch of chances at getting a good job.

Top programs usually don't even consider Coaches like him.

100%. Weirdos talmbout this dude is committing career suicide. What planet is this? Dude has never even been a standalone coordinator in his career, he's in his early 40's and he just got a Power 5 HC job dangled in front of him. Suicide would be saying no to an opportunity like that. What's he holding out for if he says no? The Michigan job when Harbaugh goes to the NFL? I'm sure he thought about this for about 0.3 seconds before he asked which dotted line to sign on.

This. At the end of the day, it's a P5 school in the northeast, where he's from. Kind of a no brainer.

The bad move would be for him to take a job like Temple or uconn or something like that.

Well, Lanning got the Oregon job for his first gig. I just think he’s going to find it extremely difficult to recruit, and win, there. I get it…the money, being a head coach, all of that is alluring, but if he goes there and fails epically it could set his career back tremendously. Lanning’s career trajectory is through the roof right now. If I were in that position I might have been a little more patient, that’s all I’m saying.

Possibly but lanning was a coordinator and brown is a position coach.
