Southridge safety Jamal Carter was one of the Miami commitments on campus this weekend for an official visit. Carter broke down the last few days.
"I got a good vibe. Everyone was cool, the players, the coaches... It was just a family environment. The whole time I was there I had a good time, every second, every minute. They're building a new facility with new locker rooms and all that. They took us different places around Coral Gables and I had never been there. I thought I knew all about Miami, but I don't."
The hard-hitter was trying his hardest to recruit some uncommitted prospects to the 'Canes.
"All the recruits that came had a good time. We were just talking about all the talent that our class got and if all of us commit, then we'll bring The U back.I was trying to get Jaynard (Bostwick) to commit, I was trying to get Alex Collins, the D-Lineman from Palm Beach, and Denver Kirkland. I think they'll come because they all loved it."
Carter roomed with Bostwick, so the two of them were able to speak in-depth about what was going through his mind. The Southridge safety also has an idea of where Booker T. Washingotn offensive lineman Denver Kirkland will end up.
"I think we're in a real good position with Jaynard because he said this is where his family is at. I think Denver is gonna weigh out his options a little bit, but I have a feeling he's going to commit real soon."
Miami also had a surprise unofficial visitor this weekend in LSU commitment Rashard Robinson.
"We were hanging with Malcolm, Tracy, Deon, Duke, we had a great time. We were talking about how bright the future is if all of us come. And also Rashard (Robinson) was there. He was there for an unofficial last night and hung out with us. I know he's committed to LSU, but I really think we have a good shot because we were feeling it. We looked around the room and said, '****, we got a lot of talent."
Where is Carter's mind at heading into signing day?
"I'm just so excited, especially after this weekend."
Carter will be enrolling at Miami in June.
