I would take Beck in a heartbeat. Is he Cam? No. Is he miles better then Emory? Yes. Is Nickel ready? No. Is he healthy? No, but still worth the gamble. We need a one year stop gap. If we can sure up the defense we can win the ACC with Beck. He is atleast on par with Klubnik who just won the ACC.

Different situations. Ward visited Miami before declaring and there were clear indicators that he was interested in playing for us. He was also looking to make a jump from WSU to a bigger program. The Beck stuff is pure speculation.
