Carson Beck

It is what it is. There's always risk when it comes to players coming back from injury but we have seen guys play well with his particular injury sooner rather than later at different levels.

As for him running more, some of his best plays last year in key situations and key moments was him deciding to take off and get the first down which led to victories.
Heck, in some ways I wish Ward would have done more of that instead of trying to make the big plays all the time.
I agree.

I wasnt a fan of his this year but he is clearly the best available option. If we get the 2023 Beck we will have two straight first round QB draft picks in a row.

I did not know this... Our line will be more like Georgia 2023 than Georgia 2024.

Statistics show Beck is a dink and dunker. For SEC, he had the same yards as Dart but with 30% more passes For ACC, Beck had about the same number of completions but produced 30& less yardage.
I don’t have air yards in front of me, but I’ll say from rewatching 5 games last night I wouldn’t call him a dink and dunker, I think it’s more a result of scheme and personnel. There were a lot (like, a lot) of screens and UGA didn’t actually execute them well so that drove down his Y/A, but there were also a lot of deep shots. His receivers couldn’t catch at all, which also dropped the Y/A.

The reality is, if (big if) the middle stretch was just an aberration, Beck is very good. That middle stretch was truly horrendous though. He had a ton of picks but he could’ve had several more that defenders dropped that he threw it right at, inexplicably. There was one should’ve been pick six at the end of the first half against Bama when they were backed up inside the 10 that just can’t happen, hit Bama’s best backer right in stride and he just dropped it. Florida dropped at least one pick. It wasn’t a function of bad oline play, it wasn’t a function of receivers, it was just him not seeing the field. It was truly reminiscent of TVD. BUT, there’s more proof of concept that it could’ve just been a rough stretch with Beck than there was with TVD.

Get me Ryan Williams, or Jeremiah Smith level WR and I will lie my *** off all offseason. I’d lie so much I’d forget we don’t have a DC
Feel like it's going to be a Carnell Tate type of guy.

Would add Came Coleman in that top tier though as well. Feel like if anything, that's the most realistic option between Ryan and Jeremiah.

Three commitments so far.

Actions speak louder than words.

Ok. Wild take , you feel the same about Beck or any other transfer or is it just the ones you don't like? Dumbest take Ive read. You honestly have zero info to support your bull**** take. The. Double down because you know? Eat some fiber and just lighten up Francis.

Im sure his agent was working behind the scenes and at least had a basic agreement in principal going before backing out of the NFL draft. Clocks ticking, enrollment is starting.... Doubt this goes past the weekend without a public commitment.

Definitely not a dink and dunker. He averaged 9.5 yards per attempt in 2023. That’s the same as Ward.
Mentioned above how heavy it seemed they were on screens, this is from an article in late September so not the full year but it checks out, and is driving that Y/A in 24 way down

from what I’ve heard within the building he’s going to commit today. Take that for what it’s worth
If true, ***** remains undefeated. I would have been okay with giving him a blank check. He has all the leverage & we cannot afford to have this train go backwards. Get it done
