i'll man up ... at first i was in the "he's overrated crowd" ... however when i saw he was becoming a real possibility i dug deeper and saw (as most have mentioned) his receivers led the nations in drops ... the kid should have 3500+ yds and 30+ tds ... we got us a really good qb ...
That doesn't sound very deep on the digging.

My only/main concern is the injury. It's a risky situation that we betting on that he recovers all the mobility and strength in his arm. However, due to how we handled the Mateer situation it was the last best option. Hopefully we don't get burned.

All that said if Beck recovers we should be in good shape. He's going to have a much better offensive line blocking for him with tons of experience. The running game should be there for him so he's not having to carry the team as much. Daniels hopefully will get healthy and Jojo flashed in the bowl and should only get better. We'll most likely try and get another guy after Spring at WR and he's also got Lofton to throw to as well. Regardless, I'm sure he'll be in a better situation closer to what he had in 2023 than he had in 2024 at UGA.

If he’s healthy he’s going to be very good. We still need a WR1 but other than that there is enough on this offense to be a top 2 ACC offense and a top 15 offense in the country.

It’s gonna a Shaboozey kinda season. Everyone better buckle up, cause this gonna be wild. Not gonna compare Ruiz to Shapiro, please. Nevin is a convicted felon, Ruiz a respected community leader. Still haven’t we been waiting for this kinda Swag. Can’t help believe it’s gotta translate on to the playing field. You know the trope, Thug U, well thanks to that little video, the might should call us Thug Hug U. Just sayin’

His play against the SEC this year was atrocious. He had 12Tds and 12INTs in conference play. Now that doesnt preclude him from being succesful here and I think he is a solid QB but it shows a guy that struggled against better competition. Some of that will fall on Bobo, but not all of it. His story is not fully written yet but I see a player closer to TVD than to Cam, with the same propensity to throwing picks.

for those that would have "settled" for Mendoza this guy is Mendoza 2.0 with more quality experience and playing in a better conference. If the arm heals up as projected we will be 2 for 2 landing the top portal qb 2 years in a row now.

I mean how could you not look at what happened to UGA after he went down and say yes let's get rid of him. Stockton isn't it. They knew it.

Ruiz is not a respected community leader.

This is all fair, and I don't think this kid is a lock to be great here, but we could have said the same thing about plenty of transfer QBs (Hendon Hooker, Bo Nix, etc.) that needed out of the systems they were in to unlock their potential. It's the biggest variable in all these portal kids. I will say that him missing spring is a red flag for me...and I still think he was the best option we had.

He was definitely the best option given our situation and we are lucky we got him. You are also correct on the change of scenery, his OC was Bobo. I think we have a pretty good QB just probably not as good as some are making him out to be. I likened him to TVD because I see a kid with talent but mistake prone who probably never replicates the season he had a couple of years ago not and retain his 1st round potential. We shall see though.
