Might be a good article (behind a paywall), but to ignore Miami's pursuit of Mateer is just weird. He was definitely a Portal QB we were interested in and offered a LOT to him.

The Gronowski **** is funny. That mo-fo will probably miss more time than Beck. But we had people swearing that we were making some huge mistake by not pursuing him harrder.

And, yes, there is a brief indication in there that we did contact Mendoza and express interest AFTER he picked Indiana. True.

Not saying Beck is the messiah but Monken's take on him has weight. UGA folks wanted Bobo run out on a rail his first tour as OC and they're souring on him again

True.

And people cannot discount the issues with the injury. When the initial call is "full Tommy John" and a lengthy recovery, it's easy to lose confidence and trust in your school's staff when you find out that there is an equally effective and less complicated surgery that can cut the recovery time by more than half.

And then for his teammates to get ****y because he is missing time trying to find a better surgical solution and/or seeing his girlfriend is just silly.

The problem is Bobo is Kirby’s best friend. And a lot of people in the Georgia program don’t see Kirby firing his BFF. I could see Kirby helping him get another job somewhere but Bobo won’t be discarded on the street like Georgia fans want. Kirby is too loyal to him.

Im going to start by saying I do not think beck is better than Cam.

With that clear, I think beck will be better for this team's WL column in ACC play.

He has a better deep ball. I don't mean 20 yard corners and crosses. Go routes. Wasn't talked about enough with Cam. May be his biggest weakness throwing.

I think he is more likely to get 3 or 4 yards vs extend plays.

Lastly, since he isn't other worldly, I would expect us to rely more on the run. I think that in itself with make it easier on the offense AND the defense. I wouldn't doubt that our defense improves 50+ spots in acc play.

we probably will win more games with beck (IMO)

ward better, but both qb's were the best QB on the field in each game they played (or will play for beck) - however, it's more to do with our secondary being replaced and Hetherman coming in to replace guidry
