Rion Brown actually has a very good mid range game, he's just not using/trying it. He's also good going to the basket, but again, not using/trying it. He's settling for 3s and missing them all. Is TMJ still under the weather? He looked like crap. Does he have the bird flu or something? Gamble was back to his old self, Scott played well, but hurt, Larkin was ok to good, nothing spectacular, and Kadji was great. I know Zona was the better team, and I know we deserved to lose, but the refs set the tone early but letting Arizona get away with murder. Not saying it would have made a difference, but when they'd flash out to Larkin after someone set a screen for him, and the guy switching on defense would bump Larkin with his hip and knock him off balance, that's technically a foul. The entire Arizona team should have fouled out in the first half. Anyway, they weren't calling it, and it's a little sour grapes on my part, but it was pi$$ing me off all game long. It clearly frustrated Larkin, you could see it on his face. Arizona was more physical all around, and if the refs are going to let them get away with it, they're going to dominate us (and a lot of teams), especially without Reggie.
If we had Reggie that's a closer game. They didn't respect our bigs, and they dominated the glass. Kadji had 19, but most of his work came from more than 5 feet from the hoop. They were harassing our guards, but with RJ and KK, I don't think they can pressure the perimeter as much, or if they did, they would sacrifice rebounding and post defense.
