Which is how baseball is played. You don't give up before the game starts because the coach threw a pitcher you didn't want him to start. You don't quit after two innings because you are down 2 or 3 runs.

But, yeah, we "knew what the outcome would be". That's garbage.

We had (at least) a man on third in three separate innings and scored NO RUNS. Sure, "if this or if that". But you have to cash in your baserunners. That's literally how the game is scored. That's not a conditional statement.
