No, they brought in better players than the coaches before them. And when the talent isn't there, all of a sudden their magical coaching skills seem to disappear. How could Patterson ever go 4-8 if he is the one who makes the players and not the other way around.

Youth. Injuries. Bad year. That was the exception not the rule. The man has had quite a successful tenure there. It's funny you ignore the BCS bowl appearances and the win last year.

So when the talent isn't there, he doesn't win. Where have I heard that before.

Yeah HE recruits the talent, coaches/developes, and puts them in position to win. He doesn't automatically gets NFL caliber players. By this coaches make players then visa versa. I'll say it's 70-30 coaches/players.

How do I know this? ****ing Golden. He has the players to consistently dominate the Coastal but....has yet to play in the championship game. He had a freshman or hurt qb??? That's enough to win the Coastal. Coaches make the players more then players make coaches. That's the beauty of football. It's not like baseball or basketball where there isn't a stop every 15 seconds and plays being called.

I've never said that those guys don't build programs and bring in the players. That's a credit to them. But without the players they are just like everyone else.

That doesn't mean that there aren't BAD coaches. Golden is certainly a bad coach. So was Muschamp. Those guys couldn't win with any amount of talent.

And you just proved why it's more coaches to players. It's that aspect of development, and coaching. That quote about Bear Bryant hold true. I have no doubt that a good coach could do more with a bad team than a bad coach with good players.

When someone brought up Cutcliff or Peaterson. You went to "it was because he had talented players" but those coaches molded that talent and taught them how to play. In the game of football it's more coaching than actually players. Baseball, basketball, and hockey OK I'll probably say it's more players than coaches
