Earlier this week there was a thread asking how long we will be able to hang on to Manny Diaz and today he is trash.

I was listening to Joe Rose the other day and he made an observation about why Saban is so good - his teams play every game like its the national championship, even against far inferior teams. He doesn't have to figure out how to motivate them or worry about starting slow. Right now, the defense is just playing uninspired football, not kicking in the extra gear to annihilate the opponent. Diaz calls have less to do with it than player desire

That's because they have 5 stars on the three deep and they know if they misstep the next guy will take their job.

Point is they play hard every down. FSU has nearly as many five stars. Difference is Saban puts the fear of jeebus into his players during practice
