A QB is most certainly not a waste of a schollie this year. We lose Rosier to graduation and there's a good chance that Perry/Weldon transfer at some point before next year once the depth chart becomes clear. One of those 2 is never going to see the field here and it'll be obvious by the end of this year who that is.

That will leave us with 2 scholarship QBs (Williams and Perry/Weldon) if we strike out on MJJ. Richt has to know this is a possibility and should be planning for it.

I can't imagine Richt doesn't have a back up plan or that he doesn't realize the possibility of transfers. He's been in this game far too long to be sleeping at the wheel.

We have literally THREE talented freshmen there backing up the senior. In 2019, at worst, we'll have a bonafide starter like Weldon who's my pick, and at least one stud backup who i think will be Williams. We'll grab a developmental walk on as the emergency third stringer.

lol how is it foolish? we dont need a qb savior this year.. if we get Johnson, he's redshirting and wont play until his redshirt sophomore year. If we strike out on him, we dont need a QB, move on to the next class.

Kinda like UGA didn't need Fromm last year? They had Eason, who the **** needs Fromm? Oops.

You stack chips, son. Period. Miami NEEDS MJJr. Period. We've got an incumbent starter who might actually be left-handed, and 2 kids who have taken ZERO snaps. You need to stack chips.

Fromm won't finish the season as UGA's starting QB and then he will be off to the next college.

Fromm is gone after next season no way he holds off Fields that kid is just way to talented and didnt come to sit on the bench.
 
If we don't recruit a QB it's a retarded fail. Another ill advised move by CMR, who a majority of the time makes the right descions. However the little things add up and that's what eventually did him in at UGA.

Tf are you talking about? We are recruiting MJJ. All richt has done at the position is have 2 qbs back to back have the best statistical years a qb at Miami has had since the early 2000s in addition to landing multiple talented blue chip qbs raising the talent level at the position at Miami. Quit overreacting
 
Just an interesting note on Penn State interest by MJJ- he gave an interview to the Penn State reporter from Rivals. Turns out he has been talking to Penn State since last summer. Coach Ja'Juan Seider is a very good friend of his dad. He calls him "family" . Said Seider has been telling him it is the perfect place for him and that he is ideal for their system. He said Penn State is a school "he has alot of interest in". Coach Rahne from Penn State flew out to Oregon during evaluation period to watch him. His mom is going with him for the OV this weekend. They will be there from Friday through Sunday. He also said he hopes to see LSU and NC State before his season starts but if he can't and he doesn't feel ready to make a decision he will wait. He said when he knows what he wants to do he will decide.

Don't know where this is going ....

I don't like it one F-ing bit....not only that...there's something about this kid that doesn't sit right....
 
Maurer from Ocala is a better QB. By a lot. I'd still love to have MJJ as a WR/CB. He's a good athlete. QB? Idk man

QBs typically commit early in the cycle. MJJ is just dragging this along more and more. He knows Richt Jr. and we've seen him a crap ton of times in Oregon. At this point, I highly doubt he's coming here. Given that the cycle is supposedly weak, I'd take in a transfer and call it a day.
