Based on his other comments, I think he’s using national seed literally (top 16) versus how it’s typically used (top 8). It stumped me the first couple times. ACCN did the same thing this afternoon.

Wasn't so until 2018 season, and the Top 8 are what matter for how teams are paired in the two Omaha pools. So, I'd say it's fair to say that there's still some confusion around the use of the term.
