[h=5]Roseville (CA) Sierra Community College LB Devante Bond says he has a top three of Miami, Oklahoma and Kentucky. He is still waiting on an Oklahoma offer; the other two have offered.
"Miami coaches, I talk to them every Sunday weekly," Bond said. "I talk to coach (Jethro) Franklin. I've sent them my transcripts, and I've talked about coming down there but have no visit set up yet."
Of his impression of Franklin, Bond said, "I like him. He is real cool. He's straight up, just tells you how it is.
"I know they want a pass rusher, and he feels I can get the job done."
Bond says he's being recruited by UM as a linebacker and rush end. He says he'll take a visit to Kentucky "soon."
He hasn't watched many UM games because his team plays its games on Saturdays.
"It's been hard - I did see the Notre Dame game," Bond said.
Of what he wants to see in the college program he picks, Bond said, "Just I have to feel comfortable. I'm going to look at the facilities, but it'll come down to where it's best for me to play at. I have three years to play with a redshirt, but it might be a two-year thing. I just have to get the right feel."
Bond will be a summertime arrival.
He currently lists five offers: Miami, UNLV, Washington State, Fresno State and Kentucky.
Of UM and what he likes about the program, Bond said, "I's a good school, a good program. academic-wise it's a top program, I know that. And it's a top school - football-wise a lot of greats have come from there. Tradition-wise they're real good."
Bond has 51 tackles and 10 sacks for his 3-4 team this season.
