There isn't a fan on this board that wouldn't have been plum happy with a Davis firing in 1997. He amassed and accumulated the most talented team in the history of CFB, but dude was a bonehead on the sidelines on numerous occasions. Team was regularly unprepared, played down to the level of competition and had some BAD loses during his tenure here. I appreciate Davis now, but I'm not ashamed to admit I wanted to punch the guy in the face at times during his tenure. Revisionist history at it's finest.
