Canes cancel 2014-15 series with Memphis

Schedule games in Fl, TX, CA, LA and NJ just those schools and Notre Dame is all we should see on our OOC schedule. Enough schools in those states to never have to play anywhere else.

Which of these is not like the others?

Good. Get out of the Toledo series unless it just them coming to play in Miami

UVA, VT, UNC, GT, FSU, PITT, DUKE, 1 BIG NAME, 1 FCS, 1 ACC CROSSOVER...There's 10 games going forward, 2 more makes full regular season schedule.

FIFY

The ACC is staying at 8 games, so that means FSU+1 Atlantic every year.

I actually didn't mind the Memphis games. Easy wins vs a D1 school that would count.

I'd like to add games against some midtier SEC opponents. Like when we had the home and home with Tennessee. Teams like Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee, etc. provide good tests for the team and exposure for the program in that part of the country.

that would be great.

didnt UM officials say they would never schedule a game like KSU where they dont recruit and it just makes em look bad if we end up losing? not a surprise after i read that. i actually would like to play louisville again just to make clint hurtt feel butthurt n get some revenge from 06

I saw something like that as well. It's also very true, those games did nothing for Miami not to mention they lost both.

Man, this SUCKS for us that live in Memphis!!!!!! I was counting the minutes until 2015. I'll be damned!!!...

And for the record, check the SEC rosters. There are several players from Memphis playing in the SEC. Not that Miami has to go to Memphis to get a player, but there are always a few studs in Memphis..

Yep, it does.

Not sure why you say that. NJ has great talent, we have tradition recruiting the state, and we have a huge alumni base there. It's why Rutgers is on the schedule.

We've had a couple guys from up there over the years, and there are definitely alumni up there, but you list the 4 states with the best talent in the country, and then a small arbitrary 5th state. I dont even know when we play Rutgers next but we havent played them in like 10 years and I'm not exactly looking forward to making a road trip to New Jersey.

But generally speaking I disagree with your premise entirely that we should restrict our OOC schedule. That is very Florida Gator-esque. I want to play big name power conference teams from everywhere. I want to be good enough to win those games. This isn't UF, and we should not be female shouldered in our approach to OOC scheduling.
