Canes Camp Report Day 2

I think that TE from the basketball team is gonna end up being a player for use

I doubt he plays more than a few snaps in garbage time based off of the reports over spring and what we have seen in the videos. Kid has two left feet and two left hands.

That being said, Njoku looks real good.

#65 is Freshman OL Sterling Jackson

Isn't he the same guy that jacked up by some little kid in his "highlight" tape?

Edit: Go to the :56 second mark...

one of the worst highlight tapes I've ever seen

The kid did have a senior highlight tape too

Looked like two different people.

Looked like two different people. Really expected to laugh as hard as i did when i saw his first tape.

I watched practice yesterday and came away impressed by Kaaya he throws a nice ball with great placement. It was hard to get a read on how well he knows the offense at this point but I was impressed. Heaps did not look bad, but not nearly as impressive. Olsen seems to have it at times and then miss at times. I am just not sure about his consistency and that's one thing that drove me nuts about Morris.

Overall, I was most impressed by the wideouts. Coley, Lewis, Dorsett, Waters and Berrios all looked explosive and made plays. I also think Trayone is raw from a standpoint of football knowledge at the RB but **** is he big and fast. I think he will transition into the season like Jimmy Graham did. You knew Jimmy had all the talent and each week he became more and more refined and I expect to see a similar projection for Trayone.

Are you guys really analyzing the highlights of a freshman walk-on that will never be higher than 4th string? We really need this season to start

Lmao point taken.

Brady and Njoku looked good in those one on ones in the end zone.

Might be wrong about Njoku as a TE. Depends how his body matures. Think he can be a WR.

I believe our top 4 at receiver is Coley, Dorsett, Waters and Lewis. Think Berrios could make a splash too if he continues.

Chocolate big and fast. See how fast he picks up the play book. Think it would be hard for staff to keep him off field. Very talented.

Stop sleeping on my boy Scott! I cannot believe how quickly he's been forgotten. From the report I've seen, he's been as impressive as any wideout thus far.

I'm a fan of Scott too, but to this point he hasn't been able to stay out of the doghouse. He has a skillset that I think is perfect to replace Allen Hurns' loss. He's a big body, can make acrobatic catches and move the chains. Will he be able to stay out of trouble and get on the field though? That's the question.

And I can't believe this thread go derailed because of a ******* walkon OL that won't ever see any meaningful minutes. STFU about him.

I liked Scott at one point but the suspension and injury and sitting out last year really put me down on him.

I hope he does well, but it even concerned me he didn't play much last year when healthy when we had guys down and Malc played over him with a bum leg last year and now Malcs healthy this year.

Remember Malc was starting as a true freshman before he went down. That year Dorsett and Scott stepped up. The starters were Hurns, Dorsett and Malc. Then Malc went down and Hurns was in and out with injuries and missed games. Then as the year went, Davon and Waters stepped up too.

You got two versatiles in Stacy and Herb who can play outside or in the slot. Dorsett not a slot, he plays the outside and gives us the deep threat every down and is possibly the fastest guy in college ball this year.. Then you got Malc who's a true slot and you have Berrios who can work the slot too, two true to the game slots.

Think the staff wants the speed at the positin too. I do like the size that Scott brings but he's been plummeting downhill ever since after the spring of last year, he had a big spring, if you asked me last year. I thought he was about to break out. Then he really fell off.

Right before the opening game he was starting and lost his job with team violations and sat out some practices and Herb and Coley jumped over him. Yeah he had the nice catch against FAU but he fell off the map after the injury, he barely played even when the chance was there when healthy. Then the suspensions the last two years. Scott is on very thin ice with the staff, I do hope he turns it around cause he really fell of the wagon into the doghouse for some time now.

I think the staff is more higher on Coley, Dorsett, Waters and Lewis right now. I know Herb bulked up to about 200 now, maybe he will bring that physicalness we need there.

Trust me, I'm all for Scott stepping back up, but I'm doubting it at the moment with recent history. Maybe he could have a Hurns like season but we'll see. He does bring that physical red zone threat that I think the other 4 are not as good as him at. He's not as fast as them but does have good speed and he brings the big bodied strong receiver type that could be a go to guy. Speed is not everything at receiver, he does have good speed not as great as the others speed, but he's tough and could be relied on. If he gets it together I'm all for it.

His ceiling could be a Hurns season, his floor is being passed up. It's up to him to prove it to the coaches cause at the moment looks like the main 4 Is Coley, Dorsett, Waters and Lewis.

Njoku has the potential of Devin Funchess.

Not really a TE, not really a WR.

Co-sign. I've said this multiple times since he verbally committed...if we get what Funchess gives Michigan out of Njoku...that will be a great dimension to have.
