*Note...

The comeback route against cover 2....is very dicy....as the cb will sit in that zone....like stated already the only possible is to flare out a back or arrow the te....either way a good cb can split the two.

In Cover-2 ("sink") I tell my guys to split the two with more respect for the deeper route. Keep sinking, close the window, give your Safety time to get over. Eyes on the QB. His front shoulder will tell you which route he's throwing to. (flat or deep out)

One of the CB's I got right now is very good and will play both of those. If you throw the deep-out he'll run under it and pick it. If you throw the flat route he'll break on it, and if you catch it you might get a 3 yard gain. Actually, with the way we play Cover-2 one of our outside backers will rally to that flat route since nothing would be in his hook-curl zone on this particular scenario. Both WR's to his side have gone vertical or flats.

(sorry, I could talk about this type of **** all day) lol

yea but sometimes on a play you just lose. Sometimes (especially in practice where everything is scripted) you think you have a good play call and the D does something that is unexpected.

Soldinger was obviously impressed with Duke. Duke basically brings the RB unit to an elite level all by himself. But, for him to heap praise on the unit, he must have been rather impressed with Dallas Crawford as well. I like how he made it a point to mention how much he likes Hagens. Hagens has been great in the traditional no credit role of blocking as a FB, but I really am hoping that he gets a few more carries this year, both short yardage and simply first or second down dives to hopefully get 3+ yards. I think that Hagens is enough of a natural runner and enough of a load to make the most of his opportunities. And softening up the defense with a load like Hagens up the middle could really help open up the run game.
