I’d like to know exactly what it is about his particular brand of 97 mph with sink/run that makes it so hittable. Even if he’s tipping something, you wouldn’t expect him to run into sooooo many barrels.

A lot of variables. When velo is up 2 seamers can flatten depending on arm slot. It can change the spin axis of the ball. So sometimes his runs, sometimes it sinks, and it’s the same with his slider. Sometime he spins off or gets around it and sometimes he hammers it and it is nasty.

He is just wildly inconsistent and I question if the staff talks to him/works with him at all about pitch design or he just goes out there and throws. Does JD sit down and show him what’s going on via Rapsodo and edgertronic video.
