I think he was overruled and wants authority over this processJD was such a good and qualified candidate, that he needs to be supervised when hiring his assistants. Incredible.

Unless he actually wanted to hire somebody insane like Lazer, two wrongs don’t make a right. You allowed or allowed yourself to be forced to allow him to have the job, so let him have the staff he wants. One way or another, this will probably be his only shot at a head coaching gig, so let him sink or swim on his own.I think he was overruled and wants authority over this process
You hired a head coach you let him hire his assistantsJD was such a good and qualified candidate, that he needs to be supervised when hiring his assistants. Incredible.

So JD has a built in excuse that he didn’t have full control over his staff, and Rad has an excuse that he didn’t have full control of the HC hire.I think he was overruled and wants authority over this process
Failed regime is a bit hyperbolic more like not good enough but he has been to Omaha 6 times as an assistantWe have a first time head coach who was promoted from two failed regimes, in a program that’s been on the decline for 2 decades and an AD who has zero track record of success hiring coaches, fighting it out for who gets hired as assistants. What could go wrong?
Gino was more of a failureWe have a first time head coach who was promoted from two failed regimes, in a program that’s been on the decline for 2 decades and an AD who has zero track record of success hiring coaches, fighting it out for who gets hired as assistants. What could go wrong?
rad has zero clue on how to hire anyone. he failed at Clemson. he failed here so far.Rad will also have input on assistants per JD why is the question
3 assistants plus a ga so 3 more hiresLaz Gutierrez new pitching coach
Can tell you Tosar is an absolute beast and the nicest guy in the world. But he ain’t coming. He’s extremely loyal to grifol so unless grifol gets fired, he’s locked in with the white SoxTosar and Lovelady are the only former canes I would want on staff.
Lovelady as an assistant working with catchers and recruiting is ideal. Never wanted him as a head coach. He also has good feel coaching 3B - something Gino never had. Managerial experience and a relationship with JD to guide him but not step on his toes.
Tosar would be an absolute homerun as a hitting coach. No idea of his recruiting acumen but he seems like a personable guy. Not even really sure why he'd entertain a college hitting coach job unless he loves UM and the city of Miami that much and wants to live here.
Laz Gutierrez new pitching coach
Literally nothing to do with that. It’s a common theme.Nice to know the bigots are out. Come on dude.
